In addition to the technical-historical approach, the House of Water promotes, under the slogan “Road to Civilization”, the vital importance of the water for communities development, in all aspects.
Location – 44 Verii Street, Tirgu-Mures
Presentation
Water supply in Tirgu-Mures is over one century old, being one of the oldest in Romania. The first drinking water production and distribution system was commissioned in the period 1907-1913, and consisted of water wells, water and sewerage pipes, administrative building, Drinking Water Treatment Plant, Waste Water Treatment Plant, water storage basins and pumping stations.
The House of Water building is located on Verii Street, in the building of one of the first drinking water pumping stations, in the same yard as one of the first reservoirs built in 1908-1909. In addition to the actual buildings, various exhibit items (pumps, pipes, maps, designs etc.) can also be seen here, inside the building and out in the garden, arranged in the form of a park.
