Public Interest Information
The free and unrestricted access of any person in Romania to any information of public interest, thus defined by Law 544/2001, is the fundamental principle of relations between persons and public authorities.
Information of public interest shall mean any information concerning the activities or resulting from the activities of a public authority or public institution, regardless of the medium or form or manner of expression of the information.

Ways of challenging decisions:
If a person considers that his right to access to information of public interest has been harmed, the person is entitled to make an administrative complaint, as set out in the forms below, in accordance with the provisions of Article 21(2) of Law no.544/2001, Decision No 123/2002 for the approval of the Methodological Norms for the enforcement of Law No 544/2001 on free access to information of public interest, as amended and supplemented by Decision No 123/2002 and Government Decision no.744/2001 for the approval of the Methodological Rules for the Application of article 2 (a) of Law no 544/2001 on freedom of access to information of public interest.
